HEALTH RESULTS: 

Laboratoires de la Retine RD has provided this  screening service for eye complications from diabetes since 2005.

It has enabled offering a medical quality screening for diabetic retinopathy to thousands of diabetic people and has enabled to save the vision of many of them.

        THE RESULTS   (on 3500 imaged diabetic people (2006))

SAVED VISIONS:

Eye complications from diabetes were found in 22.5% of imaged people:

2.4% required urgent reference (within 30 days) in ophthalmology because of the severity of the disease.

8.7% required required ophthalmologic attention  within 6 months and another 2.0% between 6 months and one year because of the presence of disease

All patients had appropriate and timely follow-up or treatment of their disease by  an ophthalmologist.

FACILITATES ACCESS REACHES  TO DIABETIC INDIVIDUALS:

Of all of the diabetic individuals who accessed to diabetic eye screening though Laboratoires de la Rétine RD :

68% had not enacted on the recommendation of a regular annual eye examination:

38% had never had an eye examination.
30% had not undergone an eye examination for at least two years.

While all of them knew of their diabetic condition for a mean of  8 years.
